Information about the
Hauptstrasse 320, D-67067 Ludwigshafen am Rhein

e.V.")
VBL operate a majority of the local public transport within the city of
Ludwigshafen on the Rhine and to the suburb Altrip by tramways (1000mm track)
and buses.

In the course of line no. 4, VBL serves the OEG railroad line between Mannheim Kaefertal and Heddesheim. The vehicles used on this line must therefore correspond to the guidelines of the german regulations for construction and operation of railways ("Eisenbahn Bau- und Betriebsordnung", [EBO])".

VBL paint schemes:
Traditionally Ludwigshafen's city-arms red colour was part of VBL's vehicles
livery. The older tramcars wear beige basic colour with a red stripe, some
instead different all-over-advertisements. With appearance of the bus-type
SL202 a new Design was introduced for the first time: The basic colour is
now white, with stripes in three different types of red colour (one of them
is almost brown). All-over-advertisments are only attached to older trams,
not to buses or low-floor LRV's. The new variotrams have been delivered in
the new corporation colours green and white.
VBL vehicles for RHB operation paint schemes:
The original livery of these cars was to be cream white with a black stripe.
This is not beeing used anymore, the body colour was changed into beige,
the stripes colour is now brown. But at this time, the major part of the
older vehicles is decorated with different all-over-advertisments. The livery
of the newer, low-floor Gt8N-type cars is similar to the other cars of the
VBL.
